ChatGPT Ads · Perth
ChatGPT Ads set up and managed by a Perth team that already runs paid search as a Google Premier Partner.
ChatGPT now shows sponsored ads to users on its free and lower-cost plans while they research, compare options and decide what to do next, and Australian businesses can buy them through OpenAI’s self-serve Ads Manager. We plan and run your ChatGPT Ads campaigns, from targeting and ad creative to conversion tracking and landing pages.

The basics
ChatGPT Ads are sponsored placements that appear below ChatGPT’s responses, clearly labelled and kept separate from the answer itself. OpenAI says ads don’t influence what ChatGPT tells people, and advertisers never see users’ conversations.
OpenAI began testing ads in the US in February 2026 and announced pilots in Australia, Canada and New Zealand in March. In May it opened a self-serve Ads Manager, and its Help Center now lists Australia as available for self-service, so Australian businesses can sign up and buy ads directly.
OpenAI says ChatGPT reaches 1.2 billion people a week. Ads are shown to logged-in adults on the Free and Go plans, but not to people on Plus, Pro or business plans, or to users identified as under 18.

OpenAI is also testing a new visual ad format during image generation, starting in the US from late October 2026.
How they work
ChatGPT Ads work differently from search ads. These are the essentials, based on OpenAI’s current documentation.
01
Ads are matched to the topic and intent of the conversation. Advertisers add “context hints” describing where their business is relevant, but these aren’t exact-match keywords like in Google Ads.
02
Buy on impressions (CPM), on clicks (CPC), or optimise towards conversions. A relevance-weighted auction decides which eligible ad is shown.
03
Ads Manager reports impressions, clicks, spend and conversions, tracked with OpenAI’s pixel or Conversions API, and UTM tags show ChatGPT traffic in your own analytics.
04
Ads aren’t eligible to appear near sensitive or regulated topics such as health, mental health or politics, and advertisers only receive aggregated results.

What we do
ChatGPT Ads are new, so we treat them as a measured test alongside your proven channels, not a replacement for them.
01
We look at whether people research your type of product or service in ChatGPT, and whether your offer, margins and budget suit a test.
02
Ads Manager setup, conversion tracking with OpenAI’s pixel or Conversions API, and UTM tagging so results appear in Google Analytics.
03
Context hints that describe the conversations where your business is genuinely relevant, refined as real data comes in.
04
Headlines, descriptions and images written for people who are mid-conversation and comparing their options.
05
Pages that pick up where the conversation left off, with the detail people need to decide. Our web team can build or improve them.
06
Plain-English reporting on clicks, cost and conversions compared with your other channels, so you can decide whether to scale.
Paid and organic
You can pay for a sponsored placement below ChatGPT’s answer, or earn a mention in the answer itself. They work best together, alongside your search ads.

Is it right for you?
ChatGPT Ads suit businesses whose customers research and compare before they buy. Good candidates usually have:
Products or services people research and compare before buying
A clear, well-explained offer and a strong landing page
Reliable conversion tracking already in place
A test budget that doesn’t put your core campaigns at risk
Probably not yet
Your customers mainly ask about sensitive or regulated topics, such as health, where ads aren’t eligible to appear
You can’t yet track enquiries or sales from your website
Your budget is already stretched across proven channels
You need exact keyword control or a guaranteed position

Yes. As at October 2026, OpenAI’s Help Center lists Australia as available for its self-serve Ads Manager. The business that advertises and is billed must be based in an available country, and ads go live once they pass OpenAI’s review. See Ads Manager availability.
Below ChatGPT’s responses, clearly labelled as sponsored and visually separate from the answer. They’re shown to logged-in adults on the Free and Go plans, not to Plus, Pro or business plan users, or to users identified as under 18.
OpenAI says no. Its stated principle is that ads don’t influence the answers ChatGPT gives, and that answers and ads stay clearly separated.
You set your own budget and bids. Ads can be bought on impressions (CPM) or clicks (CPC), or optimised towards conversions, and OpenAI’s guidance suggests starting maximum CPC bids of around US$3-5 per click. Our management fee is separate from your ad spend and quoted on scope.
By the context of the conversation, plus “context hints” you add at the ad group level and, where a user has enabled ad personalisation, signals from their wider ChatGPT use. Context hints guide matching but aren’t exact-match keywords, and OpenAI applies guardrails against narrow targeting.
No. OpenAI says advertisers don’t have access to chats, chat history, memories or personal details, and only receive aggregated performance information such as views, clicks and conversions.
They’re different. Google Ads is a mature platform with precise keyword targeting and years of performance data, while ChatGPT Ads are new and still in beta. For most businesses, ChatGPT Ads are worth testing alongside Google Ads, not instead of it.
ChatGPT Ads are paid, labelled placements below the answer. AI SEO, also called GEO, is about earning mentions inside the answer itself, which builds more slowly but costs nothing per click. Learn more about AI SEO and GEO.
We set up conversion tracking with OpenAI’s pixel or Conversions API, tag landing page links so ChatGPT traffic shows in Google Analytics, and compare cost per lead or sale with your other channels.
