Technical SEO audits from a team of software engineers who can also fix what they find.
An SEO audit shows why your website isn’t performing as well as it should in Google. We check how Google crawls, indexes and understands your site, review your content and on-page optimisation, compare you with the competitors outranking you, and turn the findings into a prioritised plan explained in plain English.

Why an audit
Automated SEO tools are useful, but they flag hundreds of “issues” without telling you which ones are costing you traffic. Many don’t matter at all. Others, like a stray noindex tag, a broken canonical or pages Google can’t render, can quietly hold back an entire website.
Our audits combine crawling tools with data from your own Google Search Console and Analytics, and with the judgement that comes from building and fixing websites every day. You get a short list of what matters, in the order it matters, with a clear explanation of why.
Organic traffic or enquiries have dropped
You’ve redesigned, migrated or changed platforms
Important pages aren’t indexed or ranking
Competitors outrank you with weaker offerings
You’re starting SEO and want to know where to focus
Google Search Console shows errors you don’t understand
What we check
Every audit is scoped to your website and goals, but these are the areas we review.
01
Robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, noindex directives, redirects, HTTPS and the Page indexing report in Google Search Console, so the right pages get into Google’s index.
02
How your pages are organised and linked, click depth, orphan pages and navigation, so Google and visitors can find your most important content.
03
Loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) and visual stability (CLS), how pages behave on phones, and whether Google can render content that relies on JavaScript.
04
Titles, meta descriptions, headings, content relevance, duplicate or thin pages and image alt text, checked against what people actually search for.
05
Whether your schema markup is valid, accurate and matches what’s visible on the page, from LocalBusiness to Product and Article markup.
06
Searches your customers make that your site doesn’t answer, and pages competing with each other for the same keywords.
07
The quality of the sites linking to you, lost links worth reclaiming, and the authority gap between you and the competitors outranking you.
08
For local businesses: your Google Business Profile, consistent business details across the web and the pages that support them.
09
Whether the AI crawlers you want can reach your site, and whether the key facts about your business are in plain, crawlable text.
Planning a new website? Audit first.
An audit before a redesign or platform change records what’s working today, so nothing valuable is lost in the move.
Ongoing technical SEO
Plenty of audits end up in a drawer because nobody has the time or skills to implement them. Our team designs, builds and maintains websites, so technical fixes don’t have to wait on a third party.
Redirect clean-ups, template changes, speed improvements or structured data: we can implement the recommendations ourselves, then keep your site healthy through an ongoing SEO campaign or our website maintenance service.
Who does the work
James Campbell and Jonathan Cream both hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering. That background helps us understand how crawling, rendering and site architecture really work, and fix problems properly rather than patching symptoms.
“Our rankings were negatively impacted from a previous SEO company and the team at Net Search have completely turned it around.”— Raquel Kovac, Perth Pool Co (Google review)

I cannot speak highly enough about James and the team at Net Search. It is refreshing to work with an online marketing business that is honest and transparent.

An SEO audit is a structured review of everything that affects how your website performs in search: how Google crawls and indexes it, how fast and usable it is, how well each page matches what people search for, and how your authority compares with competitors. The result is a prioritised list of improvements.
A technical audit focuses on the foundations: crawling, indexing, site structure, speed, rendering and structured data. A full audit adds content, keyword targeting, backlinks and competitors. We scope each audit to what your site needs, and most include both.
It depends on the size and complexity of your website. A small business site is a much smaller job than an online store with thousands of products. We’ll confirm the timeframe before we start.
Audits are quoted on scope, based on the size of your site and how deep the review needs to go, and you’ll have a price before any work begins. For ongoing campaigns, see our SEO pricing.
We can crawl your public website without any access. Read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics shows us how Google indexes your site and how visitors behave, which makes the audit far more useful. We don’t need to change anything on your site to audit it.
Yes. Our in-house team builds and maintains WordPress websites and online stores, so we can implement most recommendations ourselves. If you have your own developer, we’ll write the findings so they can act on them.
Not on its own. The audit tells you what to fix; rankings improve once the fixes are in place and Google has recrawled your site. We never guarantee rankings, but fixing genuine technical and content problems removes the obstacles holding your site back.
After any major change, such as a redesign, platform migration or new site structure; whenever organic traffic drops unexpectedly; and as a general health check at least once a year for most businesses.
They’re a reasonable starting point, but they can’t tell which warnings matter for your business, and they miss problems that need human investigation, like pages competing with each other or content Google can’t render. An expert audit turns raw data into decisions.
Yes. Online stores have their own challenges, such as filter URLs, duplicate product content and out-of-stock pages. See our ecommerce SEO service.
